How to get the free Blood Shield skin for Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals

It only takes a bit of your time.

Marvel Rivals season one dropped on Jan. 10, introducing new maps and characters, including Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. Both heroes have skins, but you can get one for Sue Storm for free called Blood Shield.

While a blood and vampire-related skin may not be the most accurate, comic book-wise, it makes sense in season one of Marvel Rivals. That’s because the season centers around Dracula taking over an alternate reality of New York. With that in mind, the Blood Shield skin perfectly plays alongside this theme, and it’s available for free if you’ve got time to grind it.

NetEase has already set a trend of giving out skins for your competitive accomplishments with season zero, and the case is no different with season one. You can secure the Blood Shield Invisible Woman skin if you reach at least Gold in competitive play. Originally, Blood Shield was only a reward for Gold in the first half of the season, but a recent update from NetEase assured players who were worried they didn’t have enough time to achieve that rank that Blood Shield will also be the Gold reward in the second half of the season as well. It will go live on Feb. 21, so you still have a bit of time left to grind the rank.

Unfortunately, we can’t yet fully showcase the skin, since we don’t have it. Well, nobody has, because it’s still to be rewarded to Marvel Rivals players.

Contrary to other multiplayer competitive games, you need to finish the season in at least Gold to get the skin. So if you manage to reach the rank and are afraid of dropping back down, we advise you to maybe hold back on Competitive games a few days before end of the season splits.

Fortunately, the rank itself won’t reset when the mid-season patch rolls, so don’t be afraid to grinding Gold for it to simply disappear a few days later. NetEase originally wanted to wipe the rankings on Feb. 21, but after players’ feedback, the developer backed off from that decision.

Season one began on Jan. 10, and it’s scheduled to last three months, finishing on April 11. The developer will add the rest of The Fantastic Four—the Thing and Human Torch—in the second half of the season. This will begin on Feb. 21, following the mid-season update.

Will there be another free skin in the second half of Marvel Rivals season one?

In short, yes. In its initial announcement on Feb. 10, NetEase confirmed that it will be “rolling out new costume rewards for Gold rank players, along with brand new Crests of Honor,” in the second half of the season. Even though the mid-season rank reset has been cancelled since then, the rewards and so on shouldn’t have been

If we were to guess, we’d say the next free skin will be for either Human Torch or The Thing. Sue Storm was a new hero at the beginning of this season, so if the developer wants to continue giving free costumes to fresh characters, either Johnny Storm or Ben Grimm are bound to get one.
